What Makes the eKO Mat Different from Other Eco-Friendly Yoga Mats?Updated 3 hours ago

The eKO Series was designed to address some of the common challenges associated with natural rubber yoga mats, balancing sustainability, durability, comfort, and performance.

Many natural rubber mats have an open-cell construction, which can make them highly absorbent but also more susceptible to wear from moisture, humidity, and regular use. To create a more durable experience, Manduka designed the eKO mat with a unique dual-layer construction.

The top layer features a sealed-cell surface with Catch-Grip™ technology, helping provide a balance of grip, durability, and easy maintenance. The bottom layer is designed to deliver cushioning and comfort while supporting a stable practice.

The eKO mat is made from natural rubber harvested from non-Amazon rubber trees and is manufactured without toxic chemicals commonly used to soften rubber. As a result, when the mat eventually reaches the end of its lifecycle and biodegrades, it leaves behind no toxic residue.

By combining natural materials with thoughtful engineering, the eKO Series offers a balance of sustainability, performance, and durability that sets it apart from many traditional rubber yoga mats.
