I Washed My eKO Mat and Now It Is Discolored or Sticky. What Can I Do?Updated 2 hours ago
Natural rubber is a sensitive material, and using cleaning products that are not designed for natural rubber can cause discoloration, affect grip, or speed the breakdown of the material.
If the discoloration or change in grip is mild, Natural Rubber Yoga Mat Restore may help improve the appearance of the mat, reverse oxidation, and restore some of the mat's natural feel and grip.
However, if the mat has become significantly damaged or sticky, the effects are often permanent. Once natural rubber begins to break down, it may not be possible to return the mat to its original condition.
It's important to allow your mat to dry completely before rolling or storing it. If an eKO Series mat is rolled up while still damp, the surface can become sticky. Unfortunately, this type of damage cannot be reversed.
To help protect the performance and lifespan of your mat, we recommend using only approved care products designed for natural rubber and following the recommended care and storage guidelines.
