What are the differences between the PRO and EKO Series mats?Updated 12 hours ago
While both deliver exceptional performance, the unique properties of their materials create distinctly different experiences on the mat:
The PRO Series is Manduka's signature collection, trusted by teachers and practitioners around the world for its exceptional durability, dense support, and Lifetime Guarantee. It is crafted from OEKO-TEX® Standard 100-certified PVC and features a closed-cell, non-porous surface. This means moisture remains on top of the mat rather than being absorbed, making it easy to clean while helping preserve the mat's long-term performance and durability. At 6mm thick, the PRO provides dense cushioning and a firm, stable foundation for practice.
The eKO Series is crafted from sustainably harvested natural tree rubber and features a sealed-cell surface designed to provide excellent grip and stability for most practices. At 5mm thick, it offers a softer, more responsive feel underfoot, making it a great choice for practitioners who prefer a more grounded connection to their practice.
What do we mean by closed-cell or sealed-cell?
These terms refer to non-porous surfaces that help prevent moisture from being absorbed into the mat. Because moisture remains on the surface, practitioners who sweat heavily may benefit from pairing their mat with a yoga towel for additional traction and moisture management.
